From now on eco-INSTITUT is cooperation partner of Berlin-based Institute Building and Environment .

As cooperation partner eco-INSTITUT belongs to the expert network supporting the members of IBU to fulfill national and international requirements on emissions from construction products and furniture.

The compliance with certain testing requirements and certificates in terms of VOC emissions can be displayed in an EPD together with the index of life cycle assessment this being thus a central information document of sustainable building.

The partnership between IBU and eco-INSTITUT enables manufacturers of construction products and furniture to link product specific environmental information with each other, to put those in the right context and to communicate them.

“We are happy working even more closely with IBU in the future“,

states Dr. Frank Kuebart, manager of eco-INSTITUT,

“so we are able to provide an extended scope of market relevant services in the area of environmental certifications to our customers. Further our services of emissions and odour testing and certifying according to criteria of eco-INSTITUT-Label certification are now more easily at the disposal for IBU customers.“

Dr. Burkhart Lehmann, manager of IBU, also sees the cooperation with eco-INSTITUT as a great opportunity:

„By this collaboration with eco-INSTITUT we create an additional service for IBU members who, through our new partner, can easily access testing criteria and testings of products being employed in buildings and so may implement those results in their EPDs.“
