On November 15th, 2017 Finnish certification body Building Information Foundation RTS sr published new “Protocol for Chemical and Sensory Testing of Building Materials” for labelling with M1. This protocol replaces version of July 5th, 2017.

New is now that CMR substances being categorised as 1A or 1b in Annex VI to regulation (EC) No 1272/2008 zählen are now consired to their full extent. Until now only C substances were evaluated.

Subtances being classified as carcinogenic, mutagenic, or toxic for reproduction are called CMR substances.
