After 25 years in Southern Cologne beginning of 2015 eco-INSTITUT has found a new home in the heart of Cologne-Muehlheim: eco-INSTITUT’s new office and laboratory spaces of 1500 m2 are now located in on the historical premises of former Carlswerk factory in Schanzenviertel in Cologne Muehlheim.
Travel directions and maps
When coming from Frankfurt or Oberhausen via motorway A3 you exit at Köln-Dellbrück (exit 26) and follow Bergisch-Gladbacher Strasse (B 506) into direction Muelheim/Centre till Clevischer Ring where you turn right.
After around 100 more metres you find the main entrance of Carlswerk at your right handside.
eco-INSTITUT is located in the building Carlswerk 1.19 in the back area of the Carlswerk site. In order to get there you follow the orange signage, drive 450 metres straight on over the site, then turn left into Hüttenstrasse Kupferzug. After 30 metres you find the entrance to our emissions testing lab at you left handside in the building with the arched windows. In front of the building you also find parking spaces.
From exit Köln Dellbrück (exit 26) you need around 8 car minutes to get to eco-INSTITUT – during rush hours though it might take longer.
At Cologne Central Station you take the underground train line U18 (direction Buchheim/Thielenbruch) till the stop Wiener Platz in Cologne-Muelheim. There you change onto line 4 (direction Schlebusch) and travel one further stop to Keupstrasse.
After getting off there you walk a couple of metres in the direction of travel, then you turn right into Keupstrasse. After around 150 metres you turn left into Schanzenstrasse, after around 100 more metres you find the main entrance of Carlswerk at your left handside.

Information about the timetable you find at www.vrsinfo.de. From Cologne Central Station you need a ticket of the price level 1b. It takes about half an hour to reach eco-INSTITUT by public transport starting at Central Station.
When coming with the city train (S6 or S11) you get off at station Cologne-Muelheim. There you change onto the bus number 152 (direction Chempark) or 153 (direction Neuer Mülheimer Freidhof) till you stop at Keupstrasse. You turn right into Keupstrasse.
After around 150 metres you turn left into Schanzenstrasse, after around 100 more metres you find the main entrance of Carlswerk at your left handside.

About Carlswerk
In 1874 Carlswerk was opened as production site of contact wires, transmission conductors and power cables. In 1904 the first transatlantic telephone cable for connecting Europe with North Amercia was produced here.
Since 2011 this industrial area has become a commercial are with an exciting mix of different branches. eco-INSTITUT is happy to contribute to this neighbourhood development.
