
The European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) has published the final version of its guidance on measuring formaldehyde release from products and formaldehyde concentration in vehicle interiors. (See also our news post from 11 September 2023: New regulations on formaldehyde emissions from products from August 2026). The comprehensive guidance is intended to help manufacturers and testing institutes comply with the new restrictions and is now available on the ECHA website or via this direct link.

Products with eco-INSTITUT-Label certification are tested in accordance with EN 16516 and may have a maximum formaldehyde concentration of 0.024 or 0.036 mg/m³.
