EU: Amended Construction Products Regulation (CPR) published On 18 December 2024, the amendment to the Construction Products Regulation (CPR) was published in the EU Official Journal as Regulation (EU) 2024/3110.
DIN: Warning note on MVV TB published As the German Institute for Structural Engineering (Deutsche Institut für Bautechnik - DIBt) announced in mid November 2024, German Institute for Standardisation (Deutsches Institut für Normung e.V. - DIN) published a warning note in mid November 2024 on the standard DIN EN 1993-4-1:2017-09.
EOTA: Publication of new EAD documents in November 2024 On 19 November 2024, 26 new or updated European Assessment Documents (EADs) were published in the Official Journal of the European Union, including four EADs that describe a test according to EN 16516:
Proposition 65: Vinyl acetate listed as a carcinogen At the end of December 2024, the California Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment (OEHHA) added vinyl acetate to the Proposition 65 list as a carcinogen, effective 3 January 2025.
DIBt: Introduction of VAT on ETAs not until 1 January 2027 The introduction of VAT on European Technical Assessments (ETA) by the German Institute for Building Technology (DIBt) has been postponed again, as announced by the DIBt in a message on its website on 9 December 2024. The new deadline is 1 January 2027.
GEV-EMICODE: Publication of new criteria and method In November 2024, Association for Control of Emissions in Products for Floor Installation, Adhesives and Building Materials (GEV) published new GEV classification criteria and an updated GEV testing method.
EU: Specification of the new ETA procedure The European Commission has updated its website on voluntary CE marking (EOTA route) and for the first time provided detailed insights into the changes to the European Technical Assessment (ETA) procedure associated with the amended Construction Products Regulation (CPR).

UKCA: Construction products with CE labelling still accepted in the UK On 2 September 2024, the British Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government issued a ministerial statement announcing that the CE marking for construction products will continue to be recognised in the UK.
